S.A.D. is an all-volunteer 501c3 nonprofit organization located in Starke County, Indiana. We are a private rescue and do not receive funds from the County. We are a foster-based rescue and we also have a shelter called ” Hanna’s House”. It is our mission to serve the homeless dogs by fostering and supporting healthy, positive relationships between people and companion animals. S.A.D. rehomes companion pets into safe, healthy, lifelong homes; serves as an educational and counseling resource; and works to reduce pet overpopulation.
We rescue dogs from our backyard, other states, and overseas if necessary. It is hard enough to accept that innocent dogs are killed every day in U.S. shelters; however, it is even harder to accept when dogs are tortured and killed inhumanely in other states and overseas where animal welfare laws are nonexistent or not enforced. Our rescue is not limited by boundaries. We are limited by funds and transportation. We rescue where our hearts lead us…
We work closely with shelters to save as many death row animals as possible. Your donations are urgently needed. Please join our mission to save these innocent animals and help reach our goal of no animal left behind. No donation is too small. ALL are life saving.
We can not rescue without a foster in place. If you are interested in finding out more about fostering please go to our FOSTER PAGE
Save a Dog Rescue is comprised of a small group of volunteers dedicated to saving the lives of Animals. We are NOT paid a salary. 100% of every donation we receive goes towards the ongoing care and veterinarian bills which we incur with every rescue.
